Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah and Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today extended their Ayudha Pooja and Vijayadasami greetings.
In a Raj Bhavan statement, Rosaiah conveyed his "heartiest greetings and best wishes" to the people of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and those living elsewhere.
"May this festival rekindle in us the spirit of dedication and devotion in our profession, promote knowledge, wisdom, peace, progress and prosperity in the country," he said.
In her greetings, Jayalalithaa recalled that the nine-day Navarathri festival is equally divided in three days for each of the Goddesses--Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswathi.
While Ayudha Pooja was a prayer for one's profession, people undertake new ventures in education, business and arts on Vijayadasami, she said in a statement.
"I wish all round prosperity for people on this auspicious occasion," she said.
Ayudha Pooja and Vijayadasami are being celebrated tomorrow and day after.
