TN IT Minister relieved of AIADMK party post

Continuing to effect changes in the party after the assembly elections, AIADMK supremo and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today relieved Information Technology Minister M Manikandan from his party post of Ramanathapuram district secretary.
Paramakudi-based party functionary M A Muniyasami has been appointed in the place of Manikandan, a party release said.
Jayalalithaa said Manikandan would continue to function as party's medical wing deputy secretary, according to the release.
Earlier this month, Jayalalithaa had restructured the party's apex body 'Thalamai Kazhagam' and named several new state office-bearers.
In today's exercise, she also appointed several new office bearers for the Ramanathapuram district unit, easing out the incumbents from their responsibilities.
She also sacked Kadaladi Panchayat Union chairman V Muthaiya and Tiruchengode councillor A Palanivel from the party for anti-party activities.
