Tamil Nadu today said it is keen on bridging the gap between technology space and the auto-component sector as immense skill is available in the state.
"Tamil Nadu is known for its leadership in auto-component and technology space. There is a need for developing a bridge that can provide technology to auto-component sector from Chennai, instead of depending on foreign countries," State Minister for School Education, Youth Welfare and Sports Development, Ma Foi K Pandiarajan said here.
"We (Tamil Nadu) have immense human capital equipped with excellent skills here," he said at a CII conference.
"Tamil Nadu is a pioneer in technology space and it is in line with Centre's Digital India initiative", the Minister added.
He further said the state government is open to extend its support to companies and considering government-owned lands that can be used for this purpose.
"We have identified 48 acre of land in Pattabiram in this regard. We will continue to focus on public private partnership model in new areas," he said.
