TN recover to 228-4 against Punjab at close in C K Nayudu

All rounder Baba Aparajith's brother Baba Indrajith (102), today came up with a timely century to stablise Tamil Nadu innings as the hosts made 228 for four at close against Punjab on day one of their three-day cricket tournament of the Col C K Nayudu trophy here.
Electing to bat, Tamil Nadu lost the wicket of opener Bharath Shankar in the very second ball of the innings and his partner Ganga Sridhar too was out for 20 leaving the hosts at 2 for 49. Both wickets were claimed by medium pacer Jaskaran Singh.
However, Indrajith put on 170 runs for the third wicket with captain Kaushik Gandhi (70) to steady the innings.
After Gandhi too made his exit, Indrajith and Ashwin Venkataraman brought up the 200 mark when the former was out caught by wicket keeper Hitansh Khera of medium pacer Deepak Bansal. In compiling 102, Indrajith had hit 13 fours.
At close, Ashwin (24) and Rohit (4) were at the crease.
