The members of the Tamilnadu Revenue Officials Association (TNORA) will go on mass casual leave on Jan 7 to press their demands including filling up vacancies of various posts such as revenue assistant and typists and salary revision for tahsildhar.
State Secretary of the association T Sivajothi today said the expected talks with the Finance Secretary did not take place yesterday.
"We had hoped the Finance Secretary would participate in the talks and our demands would be met. But only the Revenue Secretary and Commissioner of Revenue Administration participated in the talks," he said.
He regretted that the government had not issued G.O.Even on the demands that had been accepted by it and announced in the assembly.
He urged the Chief Minister to intervene and resolve the issue and provide salary hike for tahsildhars.
The next phase of agitation would be decided after Jan 7, he said.
