Chief Minister Jayalalithaa made this announcement in the Assembly after Kovilpatti MLA Kadambur Raju requested the government to construct a memorial at Kayathar in Tirunelveli district.
Kattabomman was executed by the British in 1799 and is believed to have been denied a fair trial, after he opposed the British and refused to pay tax to them.
Information and Special Programme Implementation Minister K T Rajenthra Bhalaji said government would consider the requests of members of left parties to construct memorials for renowned Tamil scholar Ma Po Sivagnanam and Mysore king Tipu Sultan.
