Social Welfare Minister B Valarmathi told the Assembly that 100 students would be chosen in every district and counselled three months before and after the examinations. Parents would also be part of the programme.
Similarly, advertisement campaign would also be held. The aim of the programme is to prevent suicidal tendencies among (sections of) school-going students, she said.
The announcement comes in the backdrop of suicides by some students after the declaration of results for Class X and XII board examinations.
