TNAU seed centre bags award

: The seed centre at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) here has bagged an award for excellence in research on seed technology.

The best performance centre award was presented at the three-day 33rd annual group meeting of the all-India coordinated research project (AICRP) on national seed projects (crops) that concluded in Karaikal yesterday, a TNAU press release said today.

All state agricultural universities and research institutes under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) participated in the meet.

TNAU's seed centre won the best award from among 24 centres in the country.

The 13th annual review meeting of ICAR seed projects was also held along with the AICRP meeting, it said.

TNAU Special officer (seeds), P Selvaraju received the award from the Puducherry Agriculture Minister R Kamalakannan in the presence of senior ICAR officials, the release said.
