Uttar Pradesh Health Minister Sidhartha Nath Singh today informed the UP Legislative Council that there is a shortage of 7,338 doctors in different government hospitals in the state.
"To fill the shortage, the government has decided to raise the retirement age of doctors from 60 to 62. Apart from this, the process to recruit doctors through the UP Public Service Commission is on," he said in a written reply
The government is going to start recruitment of doctors through walk-in interviews, the minister said.
