According to the authorities, the 54-year-old chef was arrested on a county road on Long Island and was released after posting a USD 1,500 bail, reported Ace Showbiz.
English refused breathalyser test based on his lawyer's advice. He appeared in court and posted bail in Southampton Town Justice Court.
Following the arraignment, he was seen looking bleary-eyed, carrying some documents and a plastic bag full of possessions.
English's attorney Edward Burke Jr denied that the celebrity chef was drunk driving.
"We adamantly deny the allegations levied against Mr English and look forward to addressing this matter in a court of law," he said.
