Toddler run over by campaign vehicle

A 2-year-old minor girl was today fatally run over by a campaign vehicle of a candidate in a locality in Bihar's Vaishali district, a police officer said.
The girl was playing in front of her maternal grandfather's house in Rajapakar (Purvi Tola) when the campaign vehicle of the RJD candidate Shiv Chandra Ram, contesting from from Rajapakar (SC) constituency, ran over her, Rajapakar police station in-charge Arvind Kumar said.
She died on the spot, he said adding the body had been sent for post-mortem.
The campaign vehicle carrying posters of RJD, JD(U) and Congress has been seized, but its driver managed to escape, Kumar said.

A case has been lodged against the driver, the police officer said.
