The 50-year-old, who split from Holmes, 33, in June this year after six years of marriage, has been spotted chatting with multiple women in recent weeks.
But sources close to him insist he is still single, reported People magazine.
"He's single and will be talking to women - all of whom he won't be instantly dating," a source said.
The source also played down reports that he was romancing Cynthia Jorge, a 26-year-old manager of the restaurant Beauty & Essex, after they were spotted dancing together at nightclub Le Baron here.
"Cynthia told me they went out for drinks and it was nothing but a casual night out. She said he's a nice guy," source added.
