The 60-year-old star headed to the private dining room at Pier 6, where he enjoyed the New England clam chowder and lamb gyros and also made sure to stop and give the staff an extra thanks while leaving the restaurant, reported People magazine.
"On his way out of the restaurant, Hanks made sure to stop and give the crew an extra thanks, and in his best Boston accent, commented on how he 'loved the chowdah,' a staff member said.
"He was very friendly and gracious with our staff, and a great tipper," the staffer added.
Hanks also recently popped into a couple's wedding photoshoot in New York's Central Park.
