Titled "The Kitty Party Sanyasins", the book, a Harper Collins imprint, says Banerjee "is a tongue in cheek title."
"The idea of using the theme of kitty parties came to me because such parties happen everywhere. Some women wouldn't miss a kitty party for anything. There is one being held in a park near my house," says Banerjee who released the book last evening at a function here.
The plot picks up from the resolve of these women to meet every week to discuss their problems, meditate and discuss feel good stories.
"The idea was that maybe if people get together to discuss things informally, they would be able to find solutions to their problems," shares the debutante author, who says she has never attended a kitty party in her life, but has witnessed many.
The author says she intends to present the healing factor offered by 'Kitty Parties' that moves beyond just the idea of a group of chattering women.
