43-year-old Moezeddine Garsallaoui, the leader of Jund al Khilafah, was a key player in recruiting and training of al Qaeda militants in Europe, The Long War Journal reported.
One jihadist, who identified himself as Abu al Laith al Waziri, confirmed the death of the terror mastermind but did not say when and how Garsallaoui died, but it appears he was killed in a drone strike in Miramshah, the report said.
Garsallaoui, a Swiss citizen of Tunisian-origin, was considered to be a senior al Qaeda operative in North Waziristan.
Garsallaoui's group Jund al Khilafah that carries out attacks in Kazakhstan and Afghanistan has also claimed responsibility for an attack in Toulouse, France, that killed seven people.
