Top athletes to participate in Pune international marathon

Athlete Lalit Babar, who recently won a silver medal at the Asian Games at Incheon, will be seen participating in the Pune International Marathon, which will be held on December 7.
Along with Babar, Incheon Games bronze medallist Sudha Singh and 2010 Asian Games silver medallist Kavita Raut would also participate in the event.
"We are attached to Pune International Marathon in an emotional manner and that's the reason why we sent out our entries from Incheon itself," Babar, who won a silver in women's 3000 metre steeple chase said in a statement.
Besides, 25 tribal girls from Nashik would also be running inspired by Raut who also hails from the same district.

"I want to churn a medal winner from these girls for 2024 games, and this would be my way to give back to the sport, it's a huge project and God help me in that," Raut said.
