Top golfers for CG Open at BPGC

Around 120 players, including defending champion S Chikkarangappa and current Super Series leader Rashid Khan, will take part in the Rs 1 crore prize money 7th CG Open Golf championship at the Bombay Presidency Golf Club in Chembur here from December 3-7.
The tournament would also see some of the best talents in golf, with the likes of Shankar Das (current Rolex Rankings leader), Shamim Khan, Mukesh Kumar, Om Prakash Chouhan, Shubhankar Sharma, Digvijay Singh, Khalin Joshi and others, vying for top honours, said a media release today.
The tournament, the largest golfing event in western India and part of the PGTI (Professional Golf Tour of India) Super Series, is to culminate with a Pro-Am tournament on December 7.
Chikkarangappa, the defending champion, will have to contend with former CG Open champions like Harendra Gupta, Mandeo Singh Pathania, Kunal Bhasin from Australia and Ashok Kumar.
The other prominent foreign players in the field are Sri Lanka's Anura Rohana, K Prabagaran, N Thangaraja, Nepal's Shivaram Shrestha and Bangladesh's Md Zamal Hossain Mollah.
The two prominent Mumbai players in the field are Anil Bajrang Mane and Wilson Raj De Mello.
