Special Additional District Judge (ADJ) Manoj Kumar Shrivastava granted bail to all four of them, including Malviya's assistant Sanjay Raut and Chartered Accountant Pritam Chotrani, who had acted as the middleman to seek bribe, after they furnished a bond of Rs one lakh each.
As per the bail conditions, they were directed to appear in the court during each hearing and asked not to leave Bhopal without prior permission of the court.
The IRS officer of 2007 batch had allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 25 lakh from the owner of Ramayan Constructions to correct discrepancies in the company's I-T returns.
On a complaint from the builder, CBI laid a trap and caught Rawat who works with Malaviya and had taken Rs 10 lakh from the developer as part of the bribe money from Choprani's office in M P Nagar area.
A CBI team had accompanied Rawat to Malaviya's residence, from where the BJP leader was apprehended. The team then questioned Rai and later put her under arrest, the sources added.
