"We will file the petition after getting the certified copy of the short order," Mollah's defence counsel Tajul Islam said, a day after the apex court sentenced Mollah, 65, to death, revising the judgement of International Crimes Tribunal-2 that had given him life term for war crimes committed in 1971.
Islam and another defence counsel Shishir Monir said they are ready to submit the petition seeking stay the execution process until a review petition against the verdict is settled.
Tajul and Shishir informed that they have already applied to the Supreme Court authorities for the certified copy of the full text verdict as Mollah can file the review petition only after getting the copy.
The Supreme Court sources said the signed copy of the short verdict was not released yet.
