Torrential rainfall hits south Raj, Tonk records 20 cm

Heavy torrential rains in the southern districts of Rajasthan threw the normal life out of gear with Tonk receiving the maximum rainfall of 20 cms in last 24 hours.
Tonk, Baran, Sawaimadhopur, Jhalawar and Kota districts in southern part of the desert state received heavy rains following which most of the colonies in low lying areas were inundated, Met office here said.
Meanwhile, Sawaimadhopur had a rainfall of 18 cm followed by Indargarh 15, Chauthka Barwara 14, Lalsot 12, Aligarh 8, Peepalkhera, Kishanganj and Dholpur 7 cms each.
Incessant rains also hit Jaipur district since morning with the Pink City receiving about 34 mm of rainfall till 1730 hours.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall would occur at eastern parts of the state in the next 24 hours, a forecast said.
