"Banning toddy in the state is not practical to implement and government will do everying to protect the industry which employs lakhs of people," Chief Minister Oomen Chandy said during a cabinet briefing here.
However, the government would take necessary measures to curb the sale of illict toddy in the state, Chandy said.
As part of state excise policy, the government had already taken steps to reduce availability of liquor in Kerala by regulating the number of outlets that sell foreign liquor.
