Tourism complex to come up in Delhi

A tourism complex comprising a green area, library and a office space is being developed in the city by the tourism ministry.
"The tourism ministry has drawn up a road map for the development of the tourist complex which will house a green area, LNJP Memorial Library, parking lot and office accommodation," Tourism minister K Chiranjeevi said in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today.
A plot of land measuring 3.5749 hectares was alloted to the ministry by Land and Development office of Urban Development (UD) in 2003 for developing the complex.
An amount of Rs 1.94 crore was paid to the UD ministry in 2003 towards cost of land.
"An amount of Rs 91,543 was paid to NDMC for approval of lay out plan for the LNJP library complex. In 2004, an amount of Rs 2.47 crore was paid to CPWD for execution and development of the tourist complex," Chiranjeevi said.
In addition, the Lok Sabha was informed that the Culture ministry also paid Rs 2.23 crore to CPWD for the construction of the library.
