TAAI president Iqbal Mulla was speaking to reporters here at an event organised by the Tourism Promoters' Guild.

He said that there are some laws in India which hamper the promotion of tourism.

Citing an example he said that if one purchases a Mumbai-London-Mumbai air ticket in India, he has to pay four per cent more, which is not required if he buys it in London.

"One should understand that while recovering tax, you are losing customers who would bring fairly good money to India," he said.

Criticising tourism management he said, "Rajasthan's deserts are better than that of Dubai. The greenery and snow in Kashmir is many times better than that in Switzerland.

"But due to lack of proper management we lose revenue that could be collected from foreign tourists".
