Speaking at the concluding session of a three-day training programme for BJP workers here, he said India, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, had made considerable progress on the economic front and this was now being accepted globally.
"The tourism sector has the potential to create vast employment and development opportunities," said Sharma.
Referring to the Centre's 'UDAN' scheme, the first flight under which was flagged off by the prime minister at Shimla today, Sharma said, "The scheme has been launched taking into account the vast opportunities in the tourism sector and to offer cheap air tickets to the common man.
At the workshop, BJP workers were asked to shun violence and activities which tarnished the image of the party.
As many as 19 district presidents andother office- bearers of the party took part in the workshop which was inaugurated on Tuesday.
