TPDDL intensifies drive to curb power theft

Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited has intensified its drive to curb power theft in its distribution network in North and North West Delhi.
A total of 22 FIRs have been lodged in police stations at Jahangirpuri, Kanjhawala, Mangol Puri, Alipur, Narela, Begumpur, Inderpuri, Shahbad Dairy, Bharat Nagar, Vijay Vihar, Rohini North and Bawana against those allegedly involved in direct theft of power, a TPDDL official said.
The total load booked during the raids is approximately 166 KW and the penalty amounts to Rs 29.20 lakh.
"We have intensified enforcement raids on power thieves and are focusing on errant industrial, commercial and domestic consumers across our area of distribution. We also urge all our consumers to report theft cases in their neighbourhood directly on our helpline number 011-66404040," the official said.
