TPDK members held for bid to stage protest

Around 70 workers of Tanthai Periyar Dravida Kazhakam (TPDK) were arrested here today when they attempted to lay siege to the BSNL office here protesting Centre's failure to implement 27 per cent job reservation for backward classes.
The worker led by TPDK General Secretary K Ramakrishnan, were on their way to the BSNL office when police detained them, police said.
Tension prevailed for a brief time as the workers resisted the police action.
