TPSDI targets to impart skills to over 54,000 people by 2020

Integrated power company Tata Power today said through its skill development endeavour, TPSDI (Tata Power Skill Development Institute) it aims to train over 54,000 people by 2020.
In FY17, 11,898 people were trained under various skill development programmes by TPSDI, a release issued here said.
Of those trained, 58 per cent have been placed and this year TPSDI targets to reach the 75 per cent mark.
The company is also planning to train technical workforce deployed in various Tata Power plants and certify them under TPSDI.
TPSDI is also Training Partner of Power Sector Skill Council (PSSC) under NSDC and from this year TPSDI will also offer PSSC Courses with their certification, said the release.
"In the next 10 years, through this initiative, we will make a mark in the Indian system and will also take this international," Tata Power CEO and Managing Director Anil Sardana said.
