Under the campaign, which has been named 'It's All About Saving The Girl Child', the sonography machines will be fitted with tracking devices to stop the malpractice of sex determination tests, they said.
As per the 2011 Census, there are 892 females per 1,000 males in Indore district.
"Out of the 318 sonography machines at the registered centres in the district, 19 have been fitted with these tracking devices so far. The remaining ones are likely to be covered within a month. Around Rs one crore are required for this purpose," they said.
If gender test is conducted with the machine with trackers, the administration would be informed about it, which will also be able to go through the recordings.
