President of the Chamber of Commerce here K A Shenbakarajan has in his letter to the Chief Secretary to Puducherry government today focused the hardships the traders and public at large were facing both in standing in serpentine queues before the banks.
The currency available to them was in the denomination of Rs 2000. The public and traders are not able to transact their routine works as currencies in smaller denominations were not available.
He appealed to the Chief Secretary to intervene and give advice or suggestion to the appropriate authorities to look into the situation prevailing after demonetisation and arrange for availability of currencies in smaller denominations through banks so that the public and traders would feel it easy to carry on their routine activities.
