Subhash Lamba, General Secretary of one of the trade unions, said if the acts are adopted, the basic rights of the workforce, including minimum wages, permanency of job, retirement benefits would be infringed.
Terming the 'jail bharo' protest held yesterday a success, Lamba said 1800 protestors were arrested in the city.
However, Inspector Bharat Bhushan debunked the claim and said 119 arrests were made and those arrested were released on bail later.
Demands raised by the protestors also included discontinuance of contractor system, fixing minimum wages equivalent to Punjab, stopping the process of privatisation in Insurance, Railways, Defence and Telecom.
Vipul Goel, MLA from Faridabad said the apprehension of government taking decisions against the interest of the worker was totally misleading.
