Traffic advisory issued in light of Janmashtami tomorrow

Expecting traffic congestions in various parts of the city tomorrow on the occasion of Janmashtami, traffic police have issued an advisory for the general public alerting them about the likely clogged routes.
"There is a likelihood of slowing down of traffic and congestion of roads and thus the general public and motorists are advised to plan their journeys and keep extra time for their journey," the advisory stated.
It also advised people to use Metro and other public transport to avoid congestion on roads.
Diversion points for buses and other vehicles will be in place from 2 P.M. At Panchkuian Road-Mandir Marg 'T'-Point, Park Street-Mandir Marg (R/A Talkatora Stadium), GPO and Kali Bari Marg-Bhai Veer Singh Marg, Kali Bari Marg-RK Ashram Marg, Kali Bari Marg-Mandir Marg towards Birla Mandir and Peshwa Road-Udyan Marg.
The eastern carriageway of Raja Dheer Sain Marg between Capt. Gaur Marg and Sant Nagar, falling in front of Iskcon Temple shall be pedestrianised. Motorists may use Capt. Gaur Marg and the Outer Ring Road to reach their destinations.
According to the advisory, a large number of devotees would be visiting the Laxmi Narain Mandir, Gufawala Mandir in Preet Vihar, Adhya Katyani Shakti Peeth in Chhattarpur, Santoshi Mata Mandir in Hari Nagar, Iskcon temple in Sant Nagar and the Janmashtami Park at Punjabi Bagh.
