In order to inculcate traffic etiquettes and road safety habits, Delhi Traffic Police will organise free Road Safety Awareness Summer Camps for school children in the national capital at its five training parks.
The five-day camps will start from May 18 and go on till June 26 during which children can chose any five-day period from Monday to Friday as per their convenience.
The camps will be organised at Traffic Training Parks at Punjabi Bagh, Roshan Ara Bagh, Bal Bhawan, Pragati Maidan and Baba Kharak Singh Marg on first come first serve basis.
"We are organising these free camps with a view to inculcate good road safety habits among children. The objective is to help children/students utilise their holidays meaningfully and enable them to learn road safety skills in an enjoyable manner which will have a bearing on their personality in the years to come," said Special Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Muktesh Chander.
The program will also focus on risks of driving by minors, which is increasing in Delhi. The participants will be provided daily complimentary refreshments and on the fifth and culmination day they will be awarded participation certificates.
Activities such as awareness about road safety rules, traffic signs, road markings, film shows, Nukkad Nataks, first aid etc, will be undertaken. There will be question and answer sessions, competitions, and road safety literature, calendars, caps and other gifts would be provided to participants.
