Constable Paresh Kumar Mullick (30) was returning to his home in Barrackpore after duty hours on his motrocycle when he was hit by a speeding truck near Panihati, DCDD Barrackpore Police Commissionerate A K Thakur said.
Mullick who was run over by the truck died on the spot, Thakur said.
The truck has been impounded and the truck driver arrested, he added.
