Traffic restriction in place on Jan 22-23 for parade rehearsal

Traffic restrictions and other elaborate arrangements will be in place due to full dress rehearsal on January 22- 23 for Republic Day event.
This rehearsal will take the same route as the Parade on Republic Day. It will start at 9.50 AM on January 23 from Vijay Chowk and will proceed to Red Fort.
Commuters will require to plan their journey in advance according to restrictions and avoid the route of parade, from 9 AM to 1230 PM, said Garima Bhatnagar, Joint Commissioner of Traffic Police.
No traffic movement will be allowed on Rajpath from Vijay Chowk to India Gate from 6.30 PM on January 22 till Parade is over. No cross traffic will be allowed on Rajpath from 11 PM on January 22 at Rafi Marg, Janpath, Man Singh Road till the Parade is over.
The 'C'-Hexagon-India Gate will be closed for traffic from 9.15 AM on January 23 till parade crosses Tilak Marg. From 10 AM on January 23, traffic on Tilak Marg, will not be allowed on both directions.
North-South traffic will be allowed from Ring Road, Arobindo Chowk and Prithviraj Road. Wast-West Corridor via Ring Road will also be available via different roads.

Metro rail service will remain available for commuters at all Metro stations during the full dress rehearsal.
However, boarding and de-boarding will be restricted at Kendriya Sachivalaya and Udyog Bhawan stations from 5 AM to 12 noon, and LKM (RCR)and Patel Chowk stations, from 8.45 AM to 12 noon, said the officer.
Traffic from South and East Delhi towards New Delhi railway station will be allowed on Mother Teresa Crescent and Boulevard Road via ISBT overbridge, respectively.
South Delhi Traffic towards Old Delhi railway station will be allowed on Ring Road-Ashram Chowk-Saray Kale Khan stretch.
