Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Krisna Pal today visited Kotputli to inspect the flyover which has developed crack, leading to heavy disruption in traffic movement on the Jaipur-Delhi national highway due to diversion.
The minister has directed concerned officials to finish the repair by July 30 so that both sides of the flyover could be opened for traffic.
He also directed them to complete other works on the highway within a year, Jaipur Collector Krishna Kunal, who was present at the site, informed.
Traffic had to be diverted on the national highway due to the crack which was spotted earlier this week, causing severe inconvenience to commuters.
The collector said the traffic movement has eased comparatively due to diversion.
Jaipur Rural SP Bahadur Singh said that the 5-7 km long stretch is still affected.

"Vehicles on way to Jaipur from Delhi are passing through service lanes whereas traffic coming from Jaipur is being diverted through Virat Nagar and Alwar," Singh said.
The diversion has increased the journey time between the two cities by two to three hours.
The SP said that one lane of the flyover was kept partially open for light vehicles coming from Jaipur side. Additional policemen have been deployed in the area to regulate the traffic.
