"There will be no LoC trade this week. There was no crossing of people between Jammu and Kashmir and PoK yesterday", Trade Facilitation Officer (TFO) and Custodian, Abdul Hamid Sheikh told PTI today.

He said that after holding talks with counterparts in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK), they were informed that no trade will take place this week through the Chakan-Da-Bagh LoC point in Poonch.

"PoK officials told us that crossing of people will re-start from July two", Sheikh said.

LoC trade came to a halt on July 14 in view of the Indo-Pak tension resulting due to the intense and heavy LoC firing, shelling and ceasefire violation incidents since June 11 in which two jawans were killed and four others were injured in five incidents.

It was on June 13, that there was trade of Rs 91 Lakh in 11 trucks between J and K and PoK via Chakan-Da-Bagh LoC Point in Poonch district.

LoC trade takes place four days from Tuesday to Friday every week in Chakan-Da-Bagh-Rawalakote LoC road in Poonch district.
