A constable in the enforcement wing of the Transport Department was today arrested for allegedly amassing unaccounted wealth, Anti-Corruption Bureau of Andhra Pradesh said.
One kg of gold and Rs 2 lakh in cash were seized from N Ravindranadha Reddy's houses in Anantapuramu and Tadipatra, a press release from the bureau said.
In all, 13 housing plots, five parcels of agricultural land and three houses were found registered in his name and his wife's, the release said.
He had two cars and as many motorcycles, it said.
Reddy had joined the department in October 1990 and worked in several places of Anantapuramu district, the release said.
He was presently working in the motor vehicle inspectors office in Guntakal, the release further said.
The exact book value or the market value of real estate he owned was yet to be ascertained, it added.
