Transport unions form UFTA to take up cause of commercial

To undertake the problems faced by commercial vehicles operators in Delhi, 57 transport associations today formed UFTA under transporters body AIMTC.
"United Front of Transport Associations (UFTA) comprising 57 transport associations/unions from Truck, Mini Truck / Tempo, Taxi and Auto segment from Delhi/NCR is launched today under the aegis of All India Motor Transport Congress (AIMTC), which is the apex body of road transport sector of India," a statement from AIMTC today said.
UFTA will work to take on the challenges of commercial vehicle operators in Delhi and national capital region, it said.
UFTA will look into issues pertaining to green tax levy on commercial vehicles on account of pollution, ban on 10 year old diesel vehicles in Delhi and non-registration of commercial vehicles above 2000 CC.

Besides, it will also look into "Ban on diesel taxis in Delhi and recent order to allow taxis with All India Tourist Permit, aggregator menace in Delhi / NCR and change of no-entry timings for trucks and minis trucks which was earlier from 8 am to 11 am and 5 pm to 9 pm and is now extended from 7 am to 11 am and 5 pm to 11 pm," the statement said.
The members, headed by AIMTC President Bhim Wadhwa, expressed their unequivocal support to the cause of the commercial vehicles operators and vowed to take these challenges head-on, the statement said.
