All India Motor Transporters' Congress (AIMTC), a pan-India union of transporters, will meet the BJP leaders in Delhi and discuss with them the imposition of toll fee levied by the Goa government on the state borders.
"We will meet BJP leaders like Rajnath Singh and Arun Jaitley, who had assured us that they will take up the crucial issue about toll fee by party-led Goa government during the conclave held here on June 8 and 9. We need to know whether the issue was discussed in the meeting and also want to get a feedback from them," AIMTC president Bal Malkit Singh said.
The transporters are agitating against the imposition of toll fee levied by Goa government on the state borders.
After initial agitation, AIMTC had withdrawn their strike claiming that they have been assured by BJP national leaders to discuss the issue during the National Executive.
Goa Chief Minister Maonhar Parrikar had earlier refused to bow down to the pressure of the transporters.
During a chat with reporters prior to the BJP's conclave in Goa, Parrikar had said that issues like toll fee are not discussed in the National Executive, which is called to decide the party's strategy for forthcoming polls.
