The treasury benches in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly today disrupted the House proceedings at the outset alleging that important issues of Vidarbha and Marathwada region could not be taken up due to the ruckus created by the Opposition since two days, amid four short adjournments.
The protests were countered by the Opposition benches following which both sides trooped into the well of the House and shouted slogans against each other.
More than 40 minutes were lost in protests and counter protests and virtually no Question Hour was taken up today.
Vijay Wadettiwar, Virendra Jagtap, Baba Siddique along with others (from the treasury benches) led the protests on the Vidarbha issue which was countered by Girish Mahajan, Tara Singh Yogesh Sagar, Devendra Phadanvis, Nana Patole and Girish Bapat from the Opposition benches.
Replying to allegations in connection with the Jalgaon Milk Co-operative Society scam, State Industries Minister Narayan Rane said that Eknath Khadse, as an MLA had written to the government for handing over the Society to National Dairy Development Board and read out the letter in the House.
Further, Rane, who faced charges of dacoity and was called a cheat and fraud who committed financial irregularities in the 1995 case, by the Leader of Opposition, showed other documents signed by 16 MP and MLAS, all from the BJP, to appoint an administrator in Jalgaon.

The minister said it was "improper" on part of Khadse to call names without verifying the charges.
Soon after this, Speaker Dilip Walse Patil while adjourning the House for half an hour invited the group leaders for discussion in his chamber on the issue.
After resumption, Rane turned tables on the Opposition, and said since Khadse himself was involved in the process, he had no right to raise the issue.
