The Goa Football Association (GFA) has said that the punishment meted out to FC Goa and its owners by the Indian Super League(ISL) regulatory commission is too harsh and will act as a dampener for the tournament.
Elvis Gomes, president of GFA said that the rules of ISL are seen to be different in all aspects of the game and as such it calls for a review of the verdict by an appropriate forum which needs to examine the matter afresh.
"GFA will consult with the club owners and render all assistance that may be needed," said Gomes in a press release.
FC Goa co-owners Shrinvas Dempo and Dattaraj Salgaocar too were surprised by ISL's verdict.
"We are studying the order and considering all options before us," stated FC Goa co-owners Dempo and Salgaocar.
