Trekkers embark on expedition to seven lakes in J-K's Rajouri

A group of 40 trekkers today left Rajouri for a three-day expedition to seven alpine lakes in the upper reaches of the Pir Panjal region.
The expedition, flagged off by additional district development commissioner A S Chib, would start from Bhudkhanari base camp and pass throughShakarmarg to reachthe seven lakes, an official spokesman said.
Sponsored by the tourism department, the initiative aims to put Shakarmarg and the seven lakes -- Nanan Sar, Sukh Sar, Kaldachni, Katoria Sar, Handu Sar, Bhag Sar and Samat Sar -- on the tourist map.
