Trekking expedition organised at Nainital

The state tourism department in collaboration with Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam organised a trekkingexpedition here today onthe occasion of World Tourism day.
Students from various schools participated in the nine kilometer expedition from the Flats at Mallital to Barapatthar, Landsend, Tiffintop, Sherwood Bend, Gurney House and back to the Flats.
The event that saw more than 350 participants and was inaugurated cabinet secretary Sarita Arya.
"Tourism is backbone of Kumaon economy. Such events will help give it a boost," Arya said.
General Manager KMVN TS Martoliasaid the weather conditions of the town are perfect for such events.
