Trial stayed on case against man for i'gating wife to suicide

: The Madras High Court bench has stayed the trial relating to a case filed by police in Dindigul district against a man for instigating his wife to commit suicide by switching off his mobile phone.
Justice C.T.Selvam stayed the proceedings after hearing counsel for the petititoner, who argued that it was a case of natural death, but that police had registered it as suicide
Petitioner Karthik submitted he had left his house in a huff after a quarrel with his wife on June 1 2014. Later he had switched off his phone. His wife who was very worried about his fate, had fainted and died.
On a complaint from his in-laws, police had registered a case to state Karthik was responsible for his wife committing suicide by switching off the Phone,and that she had committed suicide as she could not contact him after the quarrel.
The case had been posted for further hearing after two weeks.
