The two, Shanti Murmu (18) and Dharamananda Bhoi (19), were selected on the basis of their passion and commitment towards social change and leadership potential, Yashveer Singh, Director, Youth Venture of Ashoka South Asia and Achyut Samant told reporters here today.
It is for the first time that two tribal teenagers from India figure in the list of Youth Venturers, said Singh adding the 17 young social innovators were recently selected as role models for the youth, from across India within the age group of 12 and 20.
Ashoka India has identified these teen changemakers as young leaders who have been selected on the basis of their passion and commitment towards social change, leadership potential and their aspiration to become change representatives for their society.
These youngsters are working on diverse projects addressing some key social problems from across the country.
