The office picketing would be organised by the NGOs - Federation of Khasi Jaintia, Garo People and Hynniewtrep National Youth Front and Khasi Students Union.
"Our demand from the government is to stop the enrolment drive done in the offices of DCs and SDOs," KSU President Daniel Khyriem said in a statement.
The NGOs want that enrolment drives be done at the level of the traditional village level body, the dorbars.
"The special enrolment counters put up at the DCs' and SDOs' office are especially meant for enrolment of non-indigenous people rather than enrolling the genuine voters of the state," S Blah, Political Secretary of HNYF said.
Earlier this week, NGOs sponsored a three night road blockade in Khasi Jaintia Hills region which affected traffic movement along the NH-40 and NH-44 which connect states like Tripura and Mizoram.
The government has also called for an all party meeting on May 8.
