Tribal painting exhibition from tomorrow

A seven-day tribal painting exhibition 'Aadi-Chitra' would be held at Lalit Kala Akademi here from December 15.
Paintings from 40 tribal artists belonging to Gond, Bhil, Rathwa, Saura and Warli tribes of Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Odisha and Maharashtra respectively would be displayed in the exhibition, a Press Information Bureau release said.
Paintings in the 'Aadi-Chitra' would depict positive themes and imagination as subject, ranging from religious to secular, from Gods and Goddesses to animals and birds, life cycles from birth, death, marriage, farming, harvest, celebration, and the five basic elements of Mother Earth, it said.
Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Ltd (TRIFED) under Ministry of Tribal Affairs is organising this event as part of its marketing initiatives, said V. Ramanathan, Regional Manager, TRIFED.
