Sagar Wagh (two-and-half-year-old), suffering from extreme malnutrition, was shifted to Kutir hospital in Jawhar last evening and then to the civil hospital in night, where he died in early morning today.
Earlier this year, Sagar, weighing 4.5 kg, was admitted at a camp for malnourished kids in Jawhar town.
Former MLA from here, Vivek Pandit said Sagar was the victim of the state government's indifferent attitude.
"The government stopped the VCDC (Village Child Development Centre) scheme, as a result of which several lakh children from the predominantly tribal regions suffered the most," he claimed.
