All tribal families living in Abujmarh will get transistor sets within one year, Chief Minister Raman Singh today announced at a public meeting in Narayanpur district, where the Naxal-hit area is located, official sources said.
This will allow these families to use the device for entertainment and also getting latest information about the government's welfare programmes besides happenings in various fields, he said.
They can also listen to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's radio programme "Mann Ki Baat" and "Raman Ke Goth", a similar monthly event of the Chief Minister.
Singh said he will speak to Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani about setting up a Navodaya Vidyalaya (a chain of govt-run residential schools) in Narayanpur.

The CM said he will seek the help of Telecom Minister Ravishankar Prasad for improving mobile phone connectivity in the district.
Earlier in the day, Singh launched projects worth Rs 28.78 crore at Bastanar in another Naxal-hit district Bastar, the sources said.
Addressing a gathering at Bastanar, he said development work is taking place at a rapid pace in all districts falling under the Bastar division. He asserted that the work cannot be halted with the threat of gun.
