People from different sections of society today paid tributes to former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh on the occasion of his death anniversary.
A prayer meeting was held to mark the occasion where the work done by the former chief minister to eliminate terrorism from Punjab was also remembered.
Functions were held by Congress members across the state in memory of Beant Singh.
Among the family members of the late chief minister who were present for the prayer meeting at the Memorial Complex here were his son Tej Parkash Singh, grandson and MP Ravneet Singh Bittu and MLA Gurkirat Singh. Nobody from the state government made it to the prayer meeting.
